With Spring just around the corner, what better way to celebrate the end of hibernation than by hauling out all your fur coats (fake, of course) and giving them one last spin before they disappear into your closet for another year. In this vein, I've picked my favourites of the Fall 2011 RTW runways (late, I know) to tempt those winter lovers who want one last icy hurrah.
The shows I loved the most were: Elie Saab, Stella McCartney, Cynthia Steffe and Gianfranco Ferre. Others were good too, but not as consistently, so only really loved a few pieces. All represented below.
ELIE SAAB

Devastating. So gorgeous. |
|
Love how easy it looks, yet how elegant. |
|
Favourite dress. |
|
Spoke too soon. FAVOURITE dress! |
STELLA MCCARTNEY
This was very sleek and confident, beautiful silhouettes. Simple but stunning.
|
It may also be the model, but this reminded me so much of Grace Kelly. |
|
LOVE. |
CYNTHIA STEFFE
Yes, the schoolgirl motif was very heavy throughout, but I didn't mind as I love the preppy look! Only a true designer can make knee-high socks look that good. Straight A's from me :)
|
My favourite. The colours are perfect. |
GIANFRANCO FERRE
Also very sleek and simple. Beige never looked so good.
AKRIS
|
Love the silhouette. She looks like a forest elf. |
|
Love the subtle gleam of the lower panel of her skirt. |
|
Every detail is so perfect! Cute little side-zip. |
|
Power dress, right there. |
COSTUME NATIONAL
Great colour-blocking and mod-style dresses.
GIAMBATTISTA VALLI (couture)
|
Love the contrast between fluffy white and a sleek black cap. |

So go out and hit a few puddles before you put your Wellies away for good. Happy splashing!
